My dual electric fan set up.

In case anyone is interested in my fans set up, here is a pic. All in all it only cost about $225. Thats alot better than paying $400-$500 for just the fans. Plus these flow about 5900 CFM! Its 2-14" High Performance fans, Perma-Cool wiring harness and temp sensor and a 30 amp relay. Only took about 45 minutes to install. The hardest part of the install was pushing those nylon fasteners throught the radiator fins. Needs a little clean up, but its basically a finished product.If you have any questions, ask away.

Have you towed with them yet or been in very hot conditions? I installed 2 fans from a Camero. They did fine in 100+ degree heat until I started driving in soft sand where I had to get on it to keep moving. Affter about 10 minutes my motor got real hot.

I had to run the heater to cool the motor dowm.

Looks like I need a better set up.

The best I done so far was towing a 28' camper trailer 50 miles. It was about 85 outside and it kept the temps well with in check.

How much, if any, extra grunt did you notice after removing the stock fan and clutch ?? I'm thinking it may be one of my first real mods...

Yes, you can tell a good difference in throttle response, acceleration and low end. Very worth while.

But I'm one of those kinda of guy that wants to know when I have the motor running I have that fan turning with it.

Not to mention doesn't not running a shroud hurt your temps while sitting still? If not try it with a load and a trailer see if that affects anything..

I bet those are the fans that will stay running even after you turn the truck off to keep cooling the engine right? They also should have an adjustment to as to when they come on and how fast the turn... If they are like the one I put on my buddies truck..

I have had the fans on sitting still and it never went over 190*. These fans pull almost 5900 CFM. That is a bunch of air going across the coils. And like I said I towed a comper in 85* heat and it worked like a charm. And my fans turn off with the key if they are running. I have them on a switched hot wire.
