So today I was driving and noticed my radio sound becoming broken up.. Next thing I see is a blank screen with no sound and the system rebooted. I have read on other forums of this happening. Has anyone had this issue happen to them or know if there is a fix.. I just bought a brand new 2018 Tahoe that I picked up last week. Between this and the rough idle while stopped in drive I am becoming disgusted after paying all this money. I have 2014 Kia optima with a turbo that I have beat to hell and back and never had an issue with electronics or drivetrain the whole time.. Starting to wonder what the longevity of the Tahoe will be at this point... Just at a loss

  I had it tested at the hardware store, and it showed no chip. He went out to started the truck today and it wouldnt fire. He waited an hour then tried again, and it started 3 times. In a row. My 2000 cavalier did not have a chip key, but still had a security system. 🤷‍♀️

  If it didn't have a chip in it it wouldn't have a security system. Do the relearn or get someone with a tuner to shut the system off

  The Auto manufacturers tried to lobby Trump to back them in dealership only service and repair. He turned them down. I spent a short time as a counter man for Napa. They had signs on the counter warning about that in the seventies. I understand John Deere is already doing that. We’re just one wrong election away from that happening. Just look at California with their restrictions. We have to pay attention.

  The dealer I bought my truck from is actually pretty good. The problem is the labor force issues due to the dealer industry practices. They are struggling to keep experienced mechanics due to the pay structure, and the fluid change staff is minimum wage and uncertified. I still work with them when I need to, but I have had issues due to incompetence or lack of care as I described above. The unauthorized software update issue I suspect is driven by GM policy, but it is still an issue. It is my goddamn truck once i take delivery. You don’t modify it without my permission.
