Steering assist is reduced

My 2019 1500 Silverado LD Legacy occasionally displays the warning, Steering Assist is  Reduced, drive with care. This always happens when starting. If I turn off and restart after a few minutes it will eventually clear. While warning is lite, there is no reverse or back up cam. Also steering wheel will not turn. I brought to 2 different dealers, no error codes and can not be reproduced by dealer. Dealers response was to have vehicle towed to show while running with message displayed. Of course it only happens when dealer is closed, nights or early morning. It has occurred after truck is hot and as well as cold.

So record it next time it happens and show it to the Service Manager. Drop it off there and tell them to give you a loaner until they figure it out. Tell them you don't feel safe driving it.

 

Call GM and let them know also.

 

I don't understand why people just take the first BS excuse dealership tell them and leave without a fight.
