I got one of those fake emails from someone trying to get me to give up my credit card and pin number.....I knew it was fake the minute I saw it, so I reported it, but now I am a little more interested in what is going on.

the hyperlink they want me to click on looks completely normal, except it has this in it

:ac=

I assume it's somesort of redirect, but I was wondering if any of you web guys know better....I would post the entire link but I am afraid people would click it and get f-ed up......anyway I need you web guru's to school me, I'm not up on my HTML and scripts.

thanks

I received one of those this week too, d**n thieves

Go to Google.com and do a search on html code or something like that and check out some online HTML sources. I have not seen the particular string you posted. It could be anything...

yeah, double the google thing. I haven't seen or heard of that string either. I'll ask some other guys in my Class tomorrow see if they know what it is. I got a question too:

Anyone know how to incorporate the IE browers Back button capability into Flash Text(using Macromedia Dreamweaver MX to integrate the text into the page) when it is clicked? I don't want it to go to a CERTIAN page I WANT it to go to the PREVIOUS page, whatever that page is/was. I've been put on a Web design team at school to make a page for an organization and the other guys aren't even sure how I could do it.

I'm lost here.... what are you trying to do exactly? If you want to just make a back button that is simple enough, it's just a little javascript code if I remember correctly....

But, how are you going to do "flash text" using dreamweaver? Are you making the button in macromedia flash??? This is where I'm a bit lost.

In Dreamweaver MX, in one of the panels, there is a "Flash Text" button to make text using flash. Basically for rollover colors, and links, just to spice up the site. I'm not worriesd about it now though, I edited a pic to be a pop-up menu(entire pic is the hotspot) and it works if you preview it by itself, but if you import it to dreamweaver and then preview the entire page altogether, the pop-up menu won't pop-up. I exported it correctly to, multiple times, and even exported it in different ways, the guy are school are baffeled, they can't figure it out so I'm spending most my time at school fiddling with the pop-up menu's so at least one of us will know them well!

    • From where I'm sitting this sounds like a compatibility problem. I'm assuming the 2007 was a 900-series truck, and not an 800-series (they were sold side-by-side in dealerships that model year), since it starts and runs.   This is why I HATE post-2006 vehicles. Everything becomes a huge problem when you try to keep the thing running for longer than the manufacturer has designed it to.    I can't remember when Global-A architecture started - either '10 or '11. For your sake, you had better hope it's '11, or you're going to be spending some BIG money to correct this cluster-eff. That's something you need to find out before doing anything else. You may have several computers bricked ... but the fact that it runs tells me you MIGHT be ok here.     EDIT: Just did a quick refresher. You're screwed. This is Global-A. The 2 systems are NOT compatible in the slightest. Once you get the correct engine in there that IS compatible, you're going to need to see how many computers are locked. Absolute NIGHTMARE to straighten out, too. Your buddy might be better off cutting his losses and finding something else.   Welcome to post-2006 vehicle electronics. This is why I quit the industry, and drive nothing built after 1994. This stuff takes all the fun out of wrenching!

    • True, hard to say what differences there may or may not be between Chev and GM as well as a production year or mid year part change either.    I just found it odd that under the Sierra choice on the Autel that many of the last few years of production year did not include the choice of changing the tire pressure but if that is an Autel thing or a GM thing as to why the choices were not there. Knowing what tpms sensors are on the truck should give some guidance into which choices on the tool even make sense to try as I wouldn't give up just yet with the tool but I guess he will see what if anything he comes up with if he finds out a bit more info and tries a few more things on the Autel.
    • I'm sure if you went to a junkyard where you go in and pull the part off the truck yourself, not a used part place where they do it for you, you can get that part on it's own.  Depending on if and what else you would be buying, and time of day, they might even just skip over adding it as a item to the bill.
