Aftermarket Autometer Gauges

Ok guys, I got an Air/Fuel Ratio gauge, a Transmission Temperature Gauge, and a Vacuum gauge from autometer in the Phantom series to go in my truck. I got the mounting place figured out and how to run ground, but which wire is it that controls the dimmer switch? As well as what wire do I need to tap into to run the vacuum gauge and the Air/fuel which will be a O2 wire I'm assuming. If anybody could help me locate the test port in the transmission for the temp gauge I would be more than greatful as well. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Sorry, forgot to add I got a 2003 Chevrolet K1500 regular cab, short wheel base with the 5.3L and 4L60-E trans. Thanks

I added an autometer tranny temp to my 1999, has the 4L60E. I just screwed out the pressure port test plug (drivers side about half way up) and screwed in my sensor. Been Working great for little over a year now!

Just added EGT and boost gauges to my '03 HD and had to ask the same question about the dimmer.

It is the brown/white wire on the harness of the headlight controller. Take the dash trim piece off that goes around the instrument cluster, radio, AC controls, etc. The light controller should slide out towards you after you release the retaining clips. The brown/white wire is in one of the corners of the harness plug.....don't recall exactly. Can't miss it though. Works great.

This may be a dumb question but are any of you guys running fuel pressure gauges? if so are you running 15 psi, gauges or 100psi?

Why do you need an Air/Fuel ratio gauge with Fuel injection?????? Isn't the whole idea of EFi to give you a perfect mixture everytime???? Vacuum gauge? Is this needed on a '99 truck?? Sounds a bit excesive to me. Unless of course you just like gadgets.

Doesn't everyone love gadgets.....but the air/fuel and fuel pressure gauges come in fairly handy when your supercharging or something like that. I can tell you a couple stories about my dad's suburban with a lean running supercharger.

Personally I am putting mine in because I am gonna super charge it this summer, and I want something to do now....I like to fiddle.......it also makes me feel like I'm flying an airplane...surrounded by all sorts of s**t

You are gonna want the 100psi gauge, otherwise your reading will be pegged out all the time, since the stock system runs upwards of 40 psi (not sure exact number)

Cool....that's what I thought. I read the 15psi was for carb and TBI engines, and the 100 was for MPI. HA I actually don't have to return anything.

Yep, it's a good idea to keep an eye on the exhaust temps when running a performance programmer since they burn so much hotter. Don't want to go melting the turbo down!

I made some more runs with that programmer tonight on 110HP level. It's truly amazing. Roasts the tires in 1st and does just as well after it shifts to second, and then you are gone. The true power of the Duramax has been unleashed! I came around a corner, got it straight going about 30 mph and then punched it. Not long after that I noticed I was doing 80. It's almost as if the speedo can't keep up!

Tonight I was coming up on a four-way stop and there were some guys sitting in the shade drinking a few at a house on the corner. I stopped, rolled through the intersection and pinned it to the floor. The greatest thing is that the tires don't light up until the turbo spools and then it's all rubber. I looked back in the rear view and they were all pointing and I bet amazed at the diesel that just did a second gear burn out at about 30 mph. lol!
