My driver's side led turn signal...sometimes it flashes sometimes nothing. What to do? Not wanting to spend $1500 on 1 headlight.

I have a 2017 Sierra 1500, and last year (2023) my left front turn indicator failed and , while at dealership for an oil change, they said to fix the problem it would be $1,750.00 as they would replace the "housing".    I resisted for over 6 months and I had someone replace the bulb and it works fine.  It, however is labor intensive to get to the bulb so the labor was over 250.00,  Now the right indicator is failing and it works, doesn't work, works, doesn't work. There has to be something wrong.  I'm going to check the battery to see if that is the problem (as I have read that others have remedied this problem with a new battery).  To be continued.....

Getting into the bulbs for the front turn signals is not a $250 job.
To remove the front headlight involves removing the covering over the front of the engine bay (10 or so clips) accessing the top bolts and one way up behind the front wheel well (gotta pull the front wheel liner back by removing a few clips and some screws).
Unless your battery, or alternator, has failed, there should be no other items affecting this.
Especially the indicator light.

Has anyone had success changing the module or just cleaning the contacts for the oem led headlight turn signal? FYI NOT the headlights with a turn signal bulb.

Has anyone found a fix for this? I have a 2017 GMC sierra 1500 and have had to replace my driver side turn signal socket 4 times now with an AC delco socket. It works for a little while but then stops. I have found that the socket has a stopping point when installing it onto the headlight, I turn my turn signal on in the vehicle then I turn the socket slowly until it makes contact but over time it just turns with vibrations and loses contact. I finally bit the bullet and replaced the headlight assembly and the new headlight came with an aftermarket turn signal bulb socket and it does the same S@!*. I put on the new AC delco turn signal socket and the same thing I have to find the sweet spot until it loses contact again. I think its a poor design and needs to be fixed by GM. I have contacted the dealership and of course no bulletins or recalls. They told me to go and speak with a master tech to see if they know what the problem is. Any help. Thanks
