2003 Chevy silverado 1500 35" tires (do i need to re-gear)

Hello All, 

I need some Help. So i have a 2003 Chevy silverado 5.3 (3.73 gear ratio) with a 6 inch lift kit and 35" tires.. I did noticed a difference on less power. Do i need to up grade my rear diff?? if so what gear ratio.. going forward im planning to buy an RV trailer...

Yes, you need to re-gear that truck. You've lost most of the mechanical advantage because of the larger tires/wheels.

 

Going to 4.10's would be the absolute minimum and the preferred gear ratio for 35's is 4.56's. Cost for the gears is going to be about the same, then it's just the install cost or nothing if you do the work yourself.

 

If it's a 4X4 you must do both axles.
