Gas smell..no leaks or codes

Gas smell and no codes or leaks anywhere..cause?? 2011 silverado 5.3 lt 4x4

Could be a leak on top of fuel tank, not enough to spill over.  Is this while driving or standing next to it with no other vehicles around?  I had a few scares in the last few months and it always turned out to be other vehicles.  Running ethanol when I smell gas, then I know it's definitely not my truck!

Thanks for the reply. As the smell got more now I see evidence on something on the outside of the gas tank shield, so I guessing something is leaking from the tank.

If you want to check it out, you might try using your cell phone to take pics or a video of the top of the tank by reaching up from underneath the truck.
