4X4 INOP

My front dif on my 95 Tahoe Will not engage. When you pull the lever the front driveshaft starts to spin, and the actuator kicks in but no output from the front dif. Could there be a broken gear?

You would here grinding if the gear was shot. Its somthing to do with the actuator. maybe its unhooked from the inside?

GM had an upgrade to the actuator a few years back. It is now fully electric instead of thermal. Warn and Rancho have also made new actuators. My 95 Yukon gave out about two years ago, and I replaced it with the new GM one. Works great.

Certainly have it diagnosed by the dealer or a good 4X4 shop before spending the money.
