2008 low oil pressure

I have 2008 5.3 silverado , had oil pump replaced with a high volume pump after a while pressure stated to drop but stayed above 20. drove it on a delivery about 900 miles lost all oil pressure had it towed to a chevy dealer they said I had a collapse lifter then had it truck ship back home  had liter replaced. started truck up it was above 40 but after it warmed up it drop below 20. also replaced oil sending unit and screen

Rule #1 - DO NOT go to ANY dealer if you're out of warranty. Many reasons for this ...

 

I'd get a second opinion from a private garage - NOT A DEALER! That said, these lifters are junk right from the factory, so you probably do have a stuck one - just make sure to get a second opinion from a PRIVATE garage first.

 

Be ready - it's over 20 hours labor to extract these. You may want to think about buying a crate engine and starting over - will be cheaper in the long run. The lower end of these engines is bulletproof, but in typical GM cheapout fashion, they cover it with low-bidder, poorly engineered JUNK parts. Sad!!! Welcome to the 21st Century ....

Are you using a mechanical oil pressure gauge, or are you going by the factory gauge?
