lost all keys new key will not let me turn ignition to on position

Went to local Chevrolet dealer with my registration and identification.  Parts person seemed new to job, but after 30 minutes presented me with a new key and an invoice for $56.00.

Went home and found that new key would not unlock truck. Called my State Farm emergency road side and they sent a lock person out who opened the door. I followed the  procedure in owners manual pg 34 "programming without a recognized key". The new key when placed in the ignition, would not turn to "on run".

 

When I called the parts person, after consulting with a service writer, he told me I had to bring the truck in for programming!

If it won’t physically turn the lock cylinder on the drivers door or the ignition lock,

they cut your key wrong.
