2019 Silverado 110 power outlets

I'm thinking I'd like an outlet in the bed when I install my topper in a couple weeks.

I just purchased this 12V port and will use this pure sine wave inverter.  I need to check my power tools, but I think 300w will recharge them, not sure though.  I'll run 8g wire from the front to the rear to power the port.

I'm leary of putting in a 3000w inverter, I'm afraid I'd kill the battery stranding me somewhere while camping.

You are correct about killing the battery but I’ll only use it while the truck is running and I might only go with a 2000 watt inverter that would give me around 16 amps enough for a saw or drill. Trucks from factory only come with 400watt  inverter that’s fine for lab tops and battery chargers.

16A @ 120V means the inverter needs at least 160A @ 12V, so if you use it much, you will drain down the battery.  And your alternator doesn't put out it's max power at idle,
