I have a 2000 Sierra 1500. I have replaced the water pump in the last couple years, just replaced the blend door actuator and temperature control. The lines going into the heater core are really hot but I have heat sometimes but most of the time it is not very warm. I have also flushed the heater core and it seemed to be fine. Just wondering if anyone knows what I should be looking for.

Well, I'd want to know if there are trouble codes stores in memory for any of the 4 actuators.  Then see them on scan tool to determine if they need to be reset.

I seriously doubt it.  The system monitors the pressure in the system and will throw codes if it is not right.  When an actuator fails, there is a symptom number that even tells you why it failed.  Sometimes they get stuck and a reset with the scan tool can correct this.  Mine are acting up and I use the scan tool to force them into position until I'm ready to replace them all.

Do you need a special scan tool?

You need a bi-directional scan tool, like a Tech-2 or a VXDIAG Nano with GDS software on a laptop or tablet.
