4l80e swap onto a 4.8 1500 silverado

okay guys so heres my dilema 

 

i cant find any info on swapping a 4l80 onto a 4.8 ls anywhere in my 99’ silverado 1500 sclb

 

i find things about 5.3 swaps and 6.0 but not alot of info on the 4.8 can anyone give me some insight? Any help is appreciated!

Unlikely to have been done very often, if at all, as the 4.8 just doesn't make that much power, so the 4l60e is more than enough for it.

The same exact steps are taken with the 4.8. So it can be done no problem.

 

Depending on your current rear gear ratio, I would consider changing that to something like 3.90's or 4.10's to help it out.

 

If you truck has 3.23's or 3.42's it will kind suck with the 4.8's power level.
