New cover installed.

After two trips to the dealership last week I have my new cover installed. First cover came with mounting hardware that hadn’t been milled out (just a square block of aluminum).

Doesnt look like they adjusted the latches to close correctly front and back.  You may want to check it out.

Possibly the model designed for the K1s before motorized tailgates. I'm guessing that adjustment was done on purpose so the rear seal is not resting on the tailgate cap. Otherwise if seal rests on top of the gate, it interferes auto drop.

 

"Bowtie logo"ed OEM one was redesigned for use with auto drop tailgate (and sports bar). Olds gen seal rested on top of the cap; on new gen OEM tonneau the release lever is internal and cover has zero clearance on front and sides and a 3/4" gap on rear of the cover. New design seal now rests against the back of the cap so it will not interfere with auto drop or motorized gates, and also prevent seal freezing to gate in wet sub zero weather.

I think you right Thomcat.  If the seals were any tighter the tail gate would not open with the auto down.  Even with it any tighter the tailgate wouldn't want to close.

 

I would expect the seals to soften up after some time and also warmer weather (been cold here in Maine).
