Loud clicking on drivers side 2001 Tahoe

Hey guys I have a very loud clicking noise coming from the drivers side dash that only happens when I turn the steering wheel. Steering seems a tad bit tighter than normal. Could this be my power steering pump failing? I've checked the fluid level and it's good. Thanks in advance!

Probably not.  Normal sign of the PS pump having failed is it being difficult to turn in either direction, and of the PS pump being worn is to hear a continuous whining sound, that gets louder as you turn the wheel (or press the brake pedal if you have hydroboost brakes).

Welcome to the site.

 

The trucks of that era had a defect in the intermediate steering shaft, there are two pieces that connect in the steering column.

 

You would get a lot of noise, feedback from the wheels, and just general sloppiness in the steering wheel.
