Thought i would share this picture of a 62 # Chinook salmon caught today on the Oregon Coast.

Whoa! Nice job-I've never fished for those but I like them for dinner.

No fish that big in my neck of the woods. Biggest fish I've ever caught was a 14lb channel cat. Don't know much (actually nothing) about salmon fishing-is that a seasonal catch or would you fish for those year-round?

And how far off the coast do you go for those?

I'd be afraid to take the d**n hook out....I hope they stuff it, that thing sure would look nice over a fireplace!!

Wow. That's a nice salmon. Around here a 30+ pound Chinook (King) will get you into the newspaper. Most of our four year olds are 15-25 pounds.

Wish it was my fish. That's a monster for even here. It was caught in the North Fork Nehalem river. I'll be out next week trying to catch his big brother.
