2017 Silverado LT Z71 CD player bypass

Hey guys, I’m new here. I used the search function and didn’t find anything to help. I’m wanting to remove my stock CD player to make room for a small amp. I noticed you lose 12v to the radio when you disconnect the CD player. Has anyone bypassed the CD player with any luck?  Thanks in advance

So maybe this is the better question, does the factory cd/media player have to be installed for the screen to power on? When I pulled the CD player out the screen would not power on. Is there a way to bypass this or a way to try something else? I’ve jumped the cd harness as well as cd harness to the back of the green plug (power) 8 in screen

Did you find a way to bypass it? Have you tried to bridge the GY/VY(3998) and WH/L-GN(3997) cables?
