Hello to everybody, new member here and my very first Duramax ever!

 

Last Monday bought a brand new 2500HD W/T with a 6.6 Duramax.  Some people might ask why an ugly duckling, non chromed, barebones, fleet truck?  Price was a huge driving force and we all know, Money Talks and BS Walks.

 

Long story short...

Took my 2016 Colorado for an oil change, the dealer gave me a great deal on it, so why not?  Burning time, started to walk around the lot, just looking on what they got.  The upper trim vehicles with a Duramaxes are way too expensive for my taste.  Saw at the distance the Fleet/Work Trucks, so started to look around them.  It was time for me to leave and quickly went to the showroom and asked if they will sell to anybody a W/T-Fleet vehicle, they said yes.  So I said that will think about it and might return for a test drive.  Few weeks later I did, drove a nice 3500HD, however, the sales manager will not budge from 52K on a 56K truck (4K lousy discount), including military discount.   Went to Dodge and they offered me 10K off on a brand new 2019 (same as 2020).  With that info went to another Chevy dealer, asked for a discount and they came all the way down to 46K, after thinking for a long time, decided to buy it.   For a very basic trim is pretty much loaded with the most important features (could list but is pretty long), the only 2 things that I will like to upgrade are the seats (only 2 positions) and remote start, other than that, is just fine.  The carpet is a rubberized vinyl, just perfect for what I want, no more stains, mold and easier to clean.

 

I rather invest in the Powertrain instead of other comfort/beauty stuff that I can add later on the future.  The "ugly" truck has the same performance than the "prettier" truck, is like a blank canvas.  The rims are steel with TPMS, so why pay with interest on alloy rims that I might replace later?  There is no Chrome at all, the grill, bumper, door handles, hood scoop is all black, the trend... all blacked out, so that work was cut for me in advanced.  I am planing on doing a Vinyl Wrap, thinking on Olive Drab Green with all black trim that is already there.

 

The wife loves it, the daughter nixed it because of "NO USB Ports" on the rear (kids, what they know), me I love the Spartan Look, is like an Old School truck.
