reducing engine knock

Good question, I was referring to cold start knock, the pistons wobbling around in the bores at the bottom of the stroke till they expand from the heat and fill the bore better. The more they knock, the more they wear, the more they wear the more they knock. The knocking noise is the piston slamming the cylinder bore due to worn skirts, due to them being so short and small. Heavier oil will cushion the metal to metal contact.
