First Alexa impressions

Alexa showed up yesterday, and although it was quite buggy to get it set up, I got it to work eventually.

 

Here is my experience:

 

Installing: Go to apps - my apps and click update on the internal api component, or any other thing that requires update.

Install Alexa if it’s not installed

My installation gave me error 101 at this point. Did not recognize the API component update. Turning off the system and restarting solved it

The rest was simple. Connect Alexa to your amazon account and you are good to go

 

The good:

Great integration with the vehicle: navigation, music, steering wheel button, phone contacts, calls, DIC - Just works natively. Awesome

 

It is Alexa- home automation, skills - great!

 

The bad:

Music is only amazon prime. No other services. At home, I use Alexa to play Apple Music. At the car, I can’t.

Have not tested drop ins. Did not work for me although it should.
