I have and 2006 Yukon Denali XL. Here is my issue. My cruise will not engage. What I have done to the SUV so far is One: I have replace the brake switch twice and that didn't work. Two: I have replaced the multi-switch and that didn't do anything. 3: I have replaced the electric throttle body, that didn't do anything. 4: I disconnect the NEG battery for over 1min to reset the system, that didn't work. My tail lights ( LED)work, no bulbs burned out or 3rd brake light, taillights work normal as brake lights don't come on. I have also disconnected all taillights to test, that didn't have any effect.   I had it read and it said on scanner that brake switch is engaged. Nothing is hitting brake pedal. I have lifted brake pedal to see if any play in pedal, nothing. Scanner is reading each time I turn on/off cruise switch button. No light is coming on dash. No codes are coming up.

Second, you MIGHT have two brake switches.  I believe the GMT800 platform uses two for whatever reason, but I haven't personally checked it out, as I haven't had a problem with them.

You might also consider getting a subscription to the full-service manual for your vehicle at a site like alldatadiy.com , particularly if you are going to diagnose and/or work on it yourself, and keep the truck for some time.
