Adding a power seat

I know I am asking for trouble, BUT, is it feasible to swap a power seat for a non power seat in an 03 Sierra SLE Reg cab? I figure a new wiring harness and a computer re-programming, but I hate this seat...

I realize the cost and the hassle, but I am finding the existing non-power seat to tilt forward and it is annoying.

Thanks for any input you can offer as to what might be involved.

The bucket seats are the same. It's just the base. You'll need the harness that goes under the carpet. I myself don't really need nor care for the power option, but I wanted bucket seats and console. On long trips I do use it, since I have it, only tiny adjustments so as not to be sitting in the "same" position for so long.

I would see it of great benefit if the vehicle is multi-driver and equipped for the multi-driver option.

If you are just wanting to change from bench to buckets, you should be able to find a non-power base or look into Steel Horse or other aftermarket seats.

Although if you need to height adjust, the power base would be your only option.

Here is one other option...

Loosen the the bolts on the seat, and place 4-6 washers over the bolts on the front of the seat and tighten everything back up... That will tilt the seat bottom backwards enough to make it more comfortable, and it'll only cost you a buck for the parts. It's a cheap "mod" that you'll really appreciate in the long run!!! :uhoh:

Yeah, adding power seats seems like a waste to me, especially on a regular cab. There isn't much room to manuever them anyhow.

Shaners...I have that mod, since the first week. It makes a big difference in how you sit in the truck...more like the last gen. :uhoh:

You guys are such kill joys  Power options are always good.

Really, seat swaps have never been easier thatn they are in the NBS trucks since they all bolt in the same way. Not like the last gen where there were at least 5 different front seat bolt configurations.

I wanted a power passenger seat for my '99 Burb. The wife was complaining about the seat angle. Found a 2000 Esclade power seat assembly on e-bay and with a little modification (and 6 hours of work) I had success.
