Question about selling wheels

For those here that have sold their stock aluminum wheels, about how much was the shipping charges.

They apear to weigh aproximately 23-24 lbs with center cap and lug nuts in the the box.

Just curious as to how much shipping would cost because I'm concidering putting mine up for sale along with the other stuff already in the for sale forum.

Also, does anyone think $250.00 + shipping is too much to ask for the set, with center caps and lug nuts?

I bought the 99-02 rims that are on my 92 for $100.

But thats a rare deal, I bought another set for my other 02 (just sold) for $250 with the crapstones still on them, and that seems to be about the going rate.

Don't know about shipping though...I usually get that for free. :D

Don't UPS and Fedup have shipping calculators on their sites? Might want to try that.

usually it's about 65 bux a wheel for shipping.. that's what the amount was on my 20's and they are lighter than my stock rims.

In good shape, $250 plus shipping aint too bad. I bought a set of four take-offs off Ebay for $190 (maybe rate them 7-8 out of 10). Guy lived in the next town, so shipping was bout $0.50 for gas! I have sold two/three out of that set and shipping via ups ground ran bout $25/wheel. You may want to consider selling one at a time as they seem to go for round $100 + shipping on ebay. Course, this will take a little longer.

Good luck!

I shipped my wheels that were on my HD for a little less than 25 a wheel through FedEx. Also, I think $20 shipped is a good price. Those things are a dime a dozen on Ebay.

Does anyone happen to know the part number for the factory lug nuts?

I sold my wheels, and was keeping one set of stock lug nuts in the truck to use with the spare, if needed. Those will now be going with the wheels, so I want to get a new set to use with my spare, but want to check the price on them at GMPD first.

Thanks

    • Still looks like a rivet to me in the pics, I don't see a nut and none of the pics show the head of the screw. But if you says so.....
    • Thanks for all the help so far!   I did try right from 2026 right down to 2021, and only from 2023 down lets me select the option for tire psi change, but I get the vehicle not supported error!   I'll definitely try it under Chevrolet after work today, and I'll get the sensor number from gm for my truck tire sensors. And I'll let you know if it works for me under Chevrolet!   And if that doesn't work, I'm going to guess that what @Atlas said about maybe I have a different body control module could be true!
    • From where I'm sitting this sounds like a compatibility problem. I'm assuming the 2007 was a 900-series truck, and not an 800-series (they were sold side-by-side in dealerships that model year), since it starts and runs.   This is why I HATE post-2006 vehicles. Everything becomes a huge problem when you try to keep the thing running for longer than the manufacturer has designed it to.    I can't remember when Global-A architecture started - either '10 or '11. For your sake, you had better hope it's '11, or you're going to be spending some BIG money to correct this cluster-eff. That's something you need to find out before doing anything else. You may have several computers bricked ... but the fact that it runs tells me you MIGHT be ok here.     EDIT: Just did a quick refresher. You're screwed. This is Global-A. The 2 systems are NOT compatible in the slightest. Once you get the correct engine in there that IS compatible, you're going to need to see how many computers are locked. Absolute NIGHTMARE to straighten out, too. Your buddy might be better off cutting his losses and finding something else.   Welcome to post-2006 vehicle electronics. This is why I quit the industry, and drive nothing built after 1994. This stuff takes all the fun out of wrenching!

    • True, hard to say what differences there may or may not be between Chev and GM as well as a production year or mid year part change either.    I just found it odd that under the Sierra choice on the Autel that many of the last few years of production year did not include the choice of changing the tire pressure but if that is an Autel thing or a GM thing as to why the choices were not there. Knowing what tpms sensors are on the truck should give some guidance into which choices on the tool even make sense to try as I wouldn't give up just yet with the tool but I guess he will see what if anything he comes up with if he finds out a bit more info and tries a few more things on the Autel.
