2001 Suburban 245k miles

Wife started it up today and the check engine oil notification came on, but stayed on. I reset it every time I change the oil. She drove 4 miles, dropped off kids and let idle with no issues. Oil pressure was at 40 at idle and 50- while driving.

While driving back to the house the non-flashing SES came on and stayed on. Both lights now

Im thinking my burb was so low on oil it coded.

Could this be true?

On the 99-02 trucks there are two different warnings. There's "change oil" for when the truck thinks your oil is worn out (I believe it's just 3k miles on the odometer) and "check oil" for when the oil level sensor reaches a certain point. I think it's supposed to come on at like 1 to 1.5 quarts below full. At that point you would still have good pressure on flat ground. How low was it when you checked?
