Remote Start

I’m not sure if this belongs here or not, I have searched with little luck.  I had my 2019 1500 LD in for regular service today and on a whim, I walked over to the parts counter to see about purchasing the remote start kit Part No. : 84424015. As it happened, they had it in stock so I had them add it to my ticket and program the truck. Everything works great with the new fobs.  My question is regarding the remote start through the myChevy app, my dad’s 17’ 2500 will remote start using the app. Has anyone else done this upgrade and gain the functionality in the app?

i believe you have to have an active onstar account for it to work

I do, I can unlock my doors and hit the panic button from the app. I am wondering if I need to remove the truck from the app and then add it back in.
