1965 GMC 910 - Frame & drivetrains swap

Recommended Posts

Hey everybody,

This is my first post to this group which I joined as I recently purchased a 1965 GMC 910 with a big back window. I am super excited about the build on this truck as I would like to keep the classic look and original patina but swap the original frame and drivetrain for a newer more modern set up.

Just wondering if anybody has completed A swap like this and if it was possible to find a vehicle that would allow for a seamless transition.

My vision would be to buy the newer truck mid 80s to early 2000s, I would then take the old cab and box off and put my 65 cab and box on. Then hopefully wire up everything accordingly.

I’m not even too sure if this is possible so hoping somebody in this group has some insight.
