cigarette lighter removal

How do you remove the cigarette lighter outlet in a 2003 suburban (bench seat)? Since no one smokes in the truck, I wish to replace the cigarette lighter with a "power point" plug, but need to remove the outlet to attach it (it has a ring the goes around the outlet to hold it on).

My 03 Yukon's black bezel with cig lighter and aux plug pops right out without using any tools and without taking any other parts off. I'm pretty sure it's the same with Suburban. There's only two tabs that holds the thing on there. Becareful when taking it off because the bracket that holds the tabs are weak. When you take the bezel off, you have access to the cig lighter to unplug it. When you're done, just snap the bezel back in. Hope this helps.
