Rubbing in 4x4

I bought my truck about 8 months ago, I used the 4x4 a few times in my yard never on the road until yesterday we had a pretty good snow here in north east ohio. And I noticed there seems to be a rubbing sound coming from it. Previous owner had it in auto 4x4 I'm guessing the whole time he had it. Anyone got any ideas what this could be from?

07 4h and today it started popping when I straghten the wheel from a tight turn in 2h on the driver side. Not sure exactly what is popping yet I just know it makes the driver side tire jerk when it happens.

Could be a bad cv axle.

 

Time to get under it and see what you can find.
