2005 silverado crew cab steering

I have a 2005 silverado 5.3 4wd crew cab and noticed that the front center link bar that conects the idler arm to the pitman arm is hitting the front diff where the fill port is. It hits when I turn the steering wheel to the right about half a turn. is the bend in the bar near where the inner tie rod end threads in that hits the diff.

 

After some digging I noticed that the crew cab and extended cab center link bars are different lengths. The crew cab is 30.5 inches and the extended cab is 28.75 inches.

 

SOmeone must have put the short bar on my truck.

 

I ordered a long bar but it still seems to hit in a different spot. Not as bad but my major issue now is that since the bar is longer I cannot thread my tie rods in to get me wheels straight. SInce the bar is longer I am now bottoming out the inner tie rods into the receiving end of the outer tie rod end. I no longer have any adjustment range.

 

 

Are any other parts different. Truck is not smashed or damaged.
