2020 Trailboss trailer lights

My dad has a 2020 Trail boss, when he hooks up his boat the running lights do not work. He has brake lights, and turn signals though. We hooked up his boat to my truck and all the lights work. So we hooked up his truck to my FIL's camper, same issue all lights but running lights work. We checked fuses and all of them were fine. Friend of mine has a 2019 Sierra 1500 said you have to press some button on the left side of console near the lights knob to get his to work and thought that might work on my dad's trail boss but it didn't. Truck has 4k miles on it so he has an appmt with the dealer Friday morning. Thought I might could save him some time and get a fix on here. Thanks guys.
