Watching some videos on YouTube, I found myself liking the true dual exhaust setups. After having mine done it just sounds clapped out above 2k rpm. I hate the constant popping. Would adding a x-pipe or 2in-2out muffler help? Current setup is 2.5” tubing with the 3rd cat deleted, with 90s out the back!

It needs another resonator to remove the rasp and pop. The removal of the 3rd cat is like removing a resonator and if you don't have mufflers, then that too is removing something that takes away noise.

Thanks for the reply! So basically a 2 in 2 out muffler should work then?

Yes you could do that or you can add a resonator to each exhaust pipe to help with the rasp.
