Swapping aftermarket head unit

Recommended Posts

2007 Chevy Silverado 1500 Extended Cab V8 5.3L

Previous owner had put in an aftermarket stereo, I don't like it and bought a new one. Wiring harness was already cut/spliced so I just cut everything I needed to take off the aftermarket head unit. Now I'm having trouble finding a wiring schematic that seems to match what I'm looking at. Please help, head hurts. Ugh.

If I'm not mistaken, this does not have Bose speakers or the premium sound system, I haven't looked to see if there's an amp or not. I do have OnStar. I would also like to have the turn signal noise and door chime back, OnStar is not a big deal. These have been missing ever since I've had the truck.

I believe I see the door speaker wires, there are 4 pairs of wires braided together.

Green/Light green

Blue/light blue

Tan/Light brown

Yellow/Brown

Next which I thought was the power and ground, they are a heavier gauge.

Red w/ white stripe

Black

Now are two wires that are just hanging freely by themselves.

Yellow and green

Next are two bundles of wires wrapped together with blue shielding tape?

One bundle consists of a blue wire and a grey w/ black stripe.

Second bundle consists of a light brown wire that looks like it has a faded stripe, green w/ white, brown w/white, orange w/ white and a bare wire.

Lastly is the radio antenna, I think I got this one.

If anyone could please shed some light upon me I would be forever grateful.

Also, beneath the head unit, they had a light controller there that didn't even work so I took it off and now just have an empty space. What is the connection for that I found behind it?…
