Hi all, I am interested in the trailer view cameras for my boat trailer but curious if anyone knows if they can be submerged under water? I’ve not been able to find definitive information to determine where I would place them on my trailer. Thanks!

That would be totally dependent upon which trailer camera you end up buying. You would want to look for one that is IP67 rated, at least.

I'm pretty sure the GM version actually comes from EchoMaster.

I don't see an IP rating on it anywhere so you might want to contact them and ask... unless someone else here can chime in with answer.

I'm  sure they're built to resist rain, surely they could withstand being submerged at a shallow depth for a short period of time. But don't hold me to that!

Thank you, I’ll try contacting those folks and report back to the thread! Trying to leverage the system my LTZ came with so if they are OEM for the cameras that’s a great start.

I have a few of these on trailers and a new one in the box for my new trailer - I just took a look and I would say it is not the camera is no water friendly

best bet would be to run it up over top of the boat - and put on top of motor - if you have outboard or on back of boat if you don't - but you would be taking it off everytime before you launch.
