81mmcat Posted August 5, 2021 Posted August 5, 2021 What are the front compatibility brackets for on the trial boss and At4 for. Also called chassis frame reinforcement (84421434) do not look like they do anything?
Z45 Posted August 5, 2021 Posted August 5, 2021 (edited) Could be for transport or assembly plant use....They need to chain them down for shipment and there needs to be means to handle the truck/frame on assembly line. Edited August 5, 2021 by elcamino
81mmcat Posted August 5, 2021 Author Posted August 5, 2021 (edited) Not sure myself but they had to come off to install a front hitch. Surely does not look like it does much to me. Also don't think it is for transport since they come in the factory 2' lift kit from GM. Edited August 5, 2021 by 81mmcat
fireaxxe Posted August 5, 2021 Posted August 5, 2021 I installed the GM 2" lift kit on my truck, and these were included. When I put them in I had to remove and replace the lower radiator support bolts and noticed these compatibility brackets sat a few inches lower then the radiator and fog lamps. It looks to me like they are there to protect the front lower radiator or lower facia area just incase you go off road and misjudge your approach angle and start scraping up there.
81mmcat Posted August 5, 2021 Author Posted August 5, 2021 I was thinking about the same but nice to hear that others had the same opinion thanks
