different wheel/tire size on the rear axle for 500 miles

During vacation, I have a tire blowout and need to use the spare tire. Well, the spare is a smaller wheel and tire than on the new truck. Finding the correct tire anytime quick is shear luck. Original wheel is 22" and the spare is 20". Height is 1"1/2 different. Does driving the truck 500 miles to get home harm the vehicle? If so, why does GM put harmful combinations on the vehicle?   My truck rarely sees a dusty, dirt road, if ever. Actually, never. Within 6mo of ownership, mine was totally covered with road dust and yellow, Louisiana pine pollen. I swear, it looks 6yrs old. You'd think it was an oilfield, or pipeline service truck. Did GM just do a piss poor job of sealing the bay? Anyone else with this issue?

  Ha!! So GM Customer service, ive already been talking with someone on your email team and there is nothing they can do. So pretty consistent with everyone else’s experience- you can do NOTHING.. worthless emails. Sure glad i have 4 GM cars on our family cuz now its clear you dont care.. Sad and pathetic.
