Saw a black one up close at a new years party the other night here in Phoenix. Very good looking car; Im even more impressed than i thought id be. Any one else seen one yet? I havent been keeping up with it but i think a few people should have theirs by now...

The GTO is pretty cool. Unfortunately, it doesn’t have the WOW factor in the style department that makes you just want to sit back and stare at it like the new Mudstain has but it is still pretty cool. Hats off to GM for at least trying to keep a presence in the rear wheel drive performance couple market. I know I will consider a GTO after my HD is paid off next year.

I think it is safe to say that we will see this GTO serves as a respectable transitional car until the General pulls it’s head completely out of sand and starts building rear wheel drive performance cars people really want. Not every body wants a V6 front wheel drive so called performance sedan/coupe (Can you say Grand Prix or Monte Carlo) or will settle on a 50K Vette that the keep a head of the Jone’s limp dic kinda folks must have.

I have also heard from my coworkers on the car side that the SUV craze is officially over. What they mean by that is the lion’s share of R&D and engineering money for future product (5+ years away) is being directed towards sport wagons, crossovers, and performance sedans instead of creating brand new SUVs. This doesn't mean the Subs, Tahoes and a like will not receive refreshments but do not expect to see many more conquest SUV models such as the Avalanche or XUV. I feel this will be a good thing.... hopefully the popularity of trucks will fall to so we can get back to having real trucks again.

Remember, the Compulink system at the drag strip doesn't determine a winner by "style".

Ok, I didn't get a lot of good pictures cause I was too busy wanting to drive it plus it was raining outside, so the ones the G/F took didn't come out as she had the exposure wayyyy too high. These were taken while on the showroom floor before they pulled it out for me.
