Remote start not working (no hood latch sensor)

My remote start on my 2014 Silverado stopped working. There is no hood latch sensor on my truck, there is no check engine light or alarms pending. The lights flash when I activate remote start and it "sounds" like it's going to start but doesn't the light just flash and then stop. 

 

Anyone have any idea what it could be

Possible that there could be a pending check engine code that is present and not letting the remote start work.

 

Would have to read the codes with a decent scan tool to see if that is the case.

Don't think the remote start will work at all if the hood latch sensor is not present.
