2007 5.3 lifer issues

Have 07 5.3l 2nd engine now in 10yrs low oil pressure lifter very noisy low power I was reading that afm is main cause of this issues I can get a reman engine with upgraded lifter with option to disable afm I am wondering what do people use for tuners do this how does afm causes engine failure

The lifter would be noisy if there is low oil pressure but that does not mean that the problem is directly related to the AFM system. Low oil pressure could be from a few things. Like a bad oil pump, bad oil pump o-ring, bad cam bearings or something along those lines.

 

If a lifter has not collapsed and you don't have a dead cylinder, then it may be a good bet that it's not the AFM system at fault.
