Top of the morning!

Just bought a 22 Sierra SLT and would like to black out most if not all the chrome. I know I can take some where but I enjoy doing this stuff myself.

so far I have bought

- black grill

- black door handle covers

- black Sierra badge (removing SLT)

- will Vinyl the GMC badges

- may have wheels painted black

- black running boards

so question is how to approach front/rear lower bumper, trim around fogs and trim around windows?

Vinyl / can you buy AT4 parts / etc?

Anyone have experience doing this? Pics?

Thanks a million, looking forward to learning a ton from you expert gurus!

Leave it alone..... "Chrome will get you home!!"

JK.....like @shakenfake said, vinyl wrap it. With a good quality wrap, it should last a very long time.  The one my buddy uses at his shop is covered for 5 years.

You guys know of a vinyl brand I should look at?

3M, Avery, Oracal, and Arlon are 4 top brands. There could be others. Get what you pay for. Avery and 3M come up a lot when you search.  The main thing with vinyl is the cleaning process and laying the stuff down properly. And lastly giving it the PROPER time to CURE onto your paint. So many “shops” put it on then rush it outside to the customer. You need to make sure all edges are down and water is all dried out of it.

my buddy is on vacation this week in black hills. Will check with him next week.

Question, can you vinyl over the front/rear sensors? Will they still work or do I have to cut them out or replace them all with black colored sensors?

I’m almost sure you will have to replace. If you vinyl over they will be sensing something in front of them. I know my high country had a few times where ice was over the sensor from washing it quick through car wash and it kept detecting something there. I’d assume it would act the same way.
