DRLs on with headlights

Anyone have an easy way to wire the DRLs on a 04 Silverado to stay on with the headlights? Seems like they would add to night vision.

I am not sure how the 04 is wired (I would assume the same as my 03), but you could run a diode between the power out post on the normal headlight relay relay to the magnetic coil side of the DRL relay. When the headlights are on it will energise the coil of the DRLs & cause them to be on. On my 03 I wired it so when the high beams are on, the lows would be on as well.

The DRLs will not add anything significant. The bulb that is used for the DRLs is basicly the same intensity of that of your turn signal. Your headlights are MUCH brighter.

If you want to see how much light they put out, go to a totally dark spot and turn off your headlights with the engine running. The DRL should come on. I put brighter bulbs in mine and could not tell much difference because the lens does not focus the light. It just kind of weakly lights up a large area with not much "umph" to it.
