Center Console USB port

Does anyone know if the center console somehow different from the one under the radio?    I used wired Android auto a lot, and it works fine and stays connected as long as I connect it to the port under the radio.   However when I plug it into the port inside the console, Android Auto will boot up, but then disconnect 15-30 second later.   I'd prefer use the center console port, but its very sporadic so just curious if I am missing something here.

I'm having the same problem except it's the backseat port.

Wired AA will only work with the USB port under the head unit.  All other USB ports you have are useful only for charging purposes.
