Hey guys, sorry if this is a noob question, my new 2500 Denali gasser has 600km on it and today I noticed a weird sound and I'm not sure if it normal or not.

At idle, under the steering column, it sounds almost like rushing air, or blank old TV static. The sound disappears when I rev the engine. The sound also changes when I moving the steering wheel.

Thanks.

While I agree its annoying, its common on these higher trim trucks with nv8 steering system.  There is not a fix for it.  Its valve noise from steering gear.  The noise travels up ishaft right into the cabin.

Could have sworn I saw a TSB on this explaining to techs that the noise is normal, and not to spend time diagnosing.  It was either a link or embedded in another thread on this forum.  Now I can't find it...

Funny story (at least I hope you all get a laugh).  I'm driving from Winnemucca, NV to Roseburg, OR.  in my new '22 3500.  This trip is mostly two lane road in the middle of nowhere.  All the sudden I start hearing this static noise from around the steering column.  I had done a lot of research before picking up the truck, and this is one thing that came up.  So I hear this static and I'm thinking... "Great, my truck is normal!" 😍

About 45 minutes later that static turned into a radio station.  I had forgot the radio was on real low, and somewhere lost signal... lol

ETA:  This is the thread I was thinking of.  Not sure the document being referenced is a TSB though.
