i am looking to install factory remote start on my 2020 silverado WT but the dealer is telling me that the kit is not available for that unit. I had done some checking and their is a kit online to purchase with remotes and code for programming the BCM, my question is will this kit work with the WT or do i need to go aftermarket for a remote start unit?

thanks in advance for advise

I'd go with aftermarket. I love Fortin kits. You get a plug in harness and you can buy the flash programmer to program the options how you want it to work. You can add long distance remotes and 2 way remotes as well. I've done several vehicles with them. My truck has factory remote start but I already have the main unit and extended range remotes so I just need to spend the $85 for the plug in harness.

My buddy installs these and he installs CompuStar kits. They have a simple start/stop all the way up to a 3 mile range 2 way remote letting you know vehicle is started. I have a 1 mile Range that I’ve transferred from Acadia to trucks and it still works perfectly. Usually only have to install a new bypass kit which runs around $100.
