if you do Idle down, activate the A/C in the cab so the electric fans kick on to cool the radiator

I used to do most of my pulling at night for a couple reasons. It was cooler and I could pull over and hang the hammer while fueling out of my transfer tank. I never gave a second thought to cooling down. Usually there’s slower driving on off ramps or exit ramps in to rest areas that take a few minutes. It’s not like you’re redline and killing it. I added electric fans anyway most vehicles have those now.
