Yes, the dome lights still fade in/out with the filter. I used a T-tap to get power from the dome light wires to feed the filter.

It sounds like we did the same thing. It was simpler in my mind to use 2. They do not flash when the door opens.

I have my 3rd party illuminated door sills, OPT 7 lights, and the white lights of my running board lights on the same circuit.

I bet my basic diode/capacitor filter is not enough.  I ordered the filter you used and I also have a couple different high quality L-C filters for my FPV RC cameras.

Thanks for the help!  I am going to try one of my L-C filters when I get home from work and I will report back.

So, for anyone trying to install the OPT7 Aura Pro interior light kit and have it work like you would expect it to correctly, it is very easy.

Parts:

1 x DPDT relay.  https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000P9ICN8?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details

1 x L-C filter.  https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07KFJVC5J/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 or the one I used https://www.readymaderc.com/products/details/rmrc-lc-power-filter-1-7a

1 x four pack of micro2 fuse taps https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07ZV4LY54?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details

I tapped into the passenger side fuse box F-22 and F-46 for IGN and BATT power.

I used the ground lug behind the driver side kick panel.

I tapped into BCM connector X1 pin 23 for the dome light trigger.

I mounted the L-C filter to the relay and mounted those to the top of the HVAC duct under the driver side dash.

I mounted the OPT7 box to the metal C-rail under the drivers side dash to the right.  It's a big silver C channel.

I used the DPDT schematic in this thread.

I will post further details in a little bit.   I know a lot of this has been covered in different threads, but wanted to put a fully functioning diagram and some detail out there for anyone else who might be looking to do this.  It took me a bit to figure out all I needed to do was use an actual L-C filter vs the non-working solution (in my case) of just a capacitor and diode.

    • I understand that. The price is what it is, though. The price is what oil costs today, where our choices have led us, where supply is, and where demand is, in the market that is. Speculation is for futures, what we think the price will be, but with incomplete information at the time the price is forecast. I know you know this, but you appear to be intent on making a secondary point here about what you think the market could or should be, if only other choices.   In 1975 it became illegal to export US Crude. I'm conflicted on what the best answer is. Free markets allow export in pursuit of profit. But there is also a lot to gain by producing and consuming our own oil here. How do you reconcile it?
    • That sir is a choice. And even if it were not for all the reasons stated, this disruption has zero to do with the reality of the actual logistics and everything to do with the greed of SPECULATION. Spot price is irrelevant to reality.
    • What I think you're saying is there is supply here at home, and in Venezuela, and we could ease pricing if only it were favorable to do so.   Well, yes?   But that's not the current market. Supply isn't what could someday exist, if only, it's what producers are willing to produce and sell at a certain price point.   The national price of single family homes would come way down if we'd just slap together a few million homes this summer.   RAM and GPUs would get a lot cheaper if we just set up some factories to produce a bunch more and stopped using it to build out AI data centers.
