'97 gmc ext cab rear pillar speakers

I'm looking to replace the factory 4x6 speakers with kicker 4x6 speakers and can't seem to figure out how to get the old ones out. Any help would be appreciated.

You will have to fold the rear seat down, and carefully pop the rear roof trim panel and the trim piece below the rear window off first, then you pull off the side panels off of the sides. All of the panels are held on by clips. You may have to remove the clips from the sheet metal and reattach to the plastic panels before reinstalling the trim panels. The 4x6 speakers are mounted in with 1/4" hex screws. At least this is the procedure for the 2 door models. Hope that helps.
