floor mats and bug deflector

I have a new Yukon XL with the 2nd row captains chairs and need good floormats, have the factory ones but need extreme type. Also need a bug deflector. Any recommendations!

For the bug deflector, try the EGR brand. Dunno where to get it from, I have a local place that I can buy that brand through. I had an EGR for my old truck, it clips on with rubber-coated clips that tighten with allen screws. If you don't want the part on there, un-clip it and take all the clips off, no tape, no drill.

 

For floor mats, do you plan on leaving them in year-round, or just for the winter? there are some NICE ones out there that look OE but they have a huge lip around the edge to hold in all kinds of water and crud. Dunno the brand on those, I just have cheap thick flexible-rubber mats that I'm just going to use in the winter now that they don't match the interior of my truck. I'll be needing to find some carpet mats for the summer.

I use the catch-all carpeted floor mats they work very well and match the carpet to a tee. Cabelas ws the cheapest place I've found them

I found some decent winter floor mats at Walmart. They are grooved and hold a lot of snow and water and slush, etc. At only $10 a piece if they get too trashed I can just toss them and get new ones. As for summer ones I saw some Simpsons one I may get..

Get the Lund Interceptor bug shield. Wraps around the fender tips and will never touch your hood. GM provides the square holes already to mount it, so no drilling is necessary

Which version of the Lund? They have two, one is no drilling and the other says it requires some drilling.

Huskey Liners from Cabela's fit the wife's 03 Suburban very well and match nicely. Big honkin lip keeps snow/ water and also the gravel sized pieces of glass out of the carpet when some idiot (me ) breaks the rear window when backing into a clothesline pole. That cost me $550, we also decided to get tinted instead of privacy glass for the back, a little brighter at night when people are behind you, but much better visibility.

I've ordered the Husky Floor liners. Needed something to cover the carpet between the captains chairs in the 2nd row. Everything else looks like it is for 2nd row bench. If I like them, I may go and get the cargo and front also. Should arrive by next week. I bought mine from Automotive Accessories Connection. They had the best price if you factor in shipping.

Well, I installed the Husky liners and they work very well, especially in between the captains chairs in the back. We put our weathertech mats over them to keep our feet out of the water. Now I'm going to add the cargo liner in the back.

For floor mats, my preference is textured, dual-colored rubber - much better over:

- carpet: gets too dirty and a pain to clean (even though look nice when new)

- single color rubber: starts to show stains or debris

 

the texture and dual color (i have black and gray) help to hide the dirt, grime, and mess - plus they are a snap to clean - just pull out, hose off, let dry and you're set.
