RPM Limiter?

I didn't realize my truck is limited. I guess I never hit 100 mph until last night. I-10 to Phoenix and when I passed a long line of trucks, my truck bogged down at about 100 mph. This can be taken out with HPP3, Predator etc., right?

The stock speed limiter is set at 98 mph. A hypertech can bump up the top speed limiter up to 128 mph but you better make sure your tires are rated for that speed because the stock tires are "s" rate for only 112mph. I am not sure about the stock performance program on the predator but I have a custom tune on mine & it is set at 130mph.

The Predator can raise the speed limiter to 125 MPH!

Thanks for the info. Yeah, I'll be changing the tires to a higher speed rating when the time comes, but it would be nice to break 105-110 on occasion if need be.

Make sure your tires are about Z-rated or right at it. HPP3, predator and all custom tuning can extend the limiter. Some will even remove it. I dont know about ya'll but I wouldnt want to drive a chevy truck 140+.

Some more things to consider besides the tires are the driveshaft and related drivetrain components. I don't think Chevy engineers made sure everything was balanced to speeds above 130-140mph. Though the engine can probably get you there, I'd be concerned about everything else. Also, aerodynamics and whatnot coming into play at those speeds.

If I'm going to be doing 100mph++, it's going to be behind the wheel of my C5 which glues down to the road the faster it goes.
