Np205 stick in 2wd position But driving in low range

Just bought an 82 k30 and used the 4x4 hunting today. The stick moves freely into all the positions and I can feel it engaging each area. But now the truck is driving in low range in any position. The linkages off the stick all seem fine. Really hoping I'm missing something simple and don't have to pull it out. Thanks everyone

Probably a broken shift fork inside. They are replaceable without dropping the TC but I find it easier to do dropping it
